4th of July Holiday...Getting back on track...literally!

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great 4th of July Holiday! I sure did. I decided that my legs needed a little break. They sure deserved it! After all the hard work I had done last week. Can't wait to hit the track today to get some sprints in! Should be exciting! Also maybe a little stadiums. I'm sure I will have a great mixture of stuff to do. Friday I had a great workout. Saturday I took it easy and Sunday I went out there at noon like a crazy person and conquered! Felt great! Monday I took a much needed rest. I actually stayed in the house pretty much all day. It was so nice to actually relax but my mind was definitely going...I wanted to run. I fought the urge. I just kept telling myself that my legs really needed and deserved the rest. The Monroe Jaycees had their fireworks display on Saturday and I worked it and it was tiresome.
The weather is not looking so great for today but I still can't wait to get out there and run! Remember I am not giving failure and option here! I will succeed! I can't wait until I cross that finish line but there is so much work to be done before I can get to the start line! I hope everyone will follow my journey and encourage me throughout my journey! It has been awesome so far!

See you next time!

Big Workout

Wow! Yesterday was a huge day. I did a lot on yesterday to make up that I won't workout on Saturday. I hope to find time to workout on Saturday but I may not be able to. Therefore, the big workout yesterday. I did 12 sprints, 10 minute jog and a few stadiums. After I did stadiums I went and jogged 2 more laps and then walked a few laps to cool down. I have been very proud of myself lately! Been sleeping great and feeling great too. Everything is happening right on schedule. I could not be more excited. This is going to be a fabulous weekend filled with family and friends and I am looking forward to it. Not before I workout this evening though! Must get that workout in before I go have fun! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

20 Minute Run

Hey! Had a great 20 minute run yesterday! Was very hot but overall a great run. Working on my endurance is tough! I can't believe I have put myself through some greusome stuff this week! Very excited! I know all of this hard work will pay off and I can't wait till it does! Possibly going to run a few sprints tonight..(Can't believe I just said that) Drinking a great bottle of Muscle Milk this morning for a little protein. Didn't eat supper last night so I need the protein. Soon I will be working on my diet so that I can get accustomed to it. I know I am going to put myself through a very strict diet before the race. There is so much that goes into planning for a race and planning to run a race. You have to think about all aspects of it. The dieting, the strength training, the endurance training. There is a lot. You have to discipline yourself. Sometimes you have to be harder on yourself than normal. If anyone knows me they know I am extremely hard on myself. That will play a huge role in preparing myself for this Half Marathon! I am truly excited about this journey and can't wait to get to the hard core training aspect of it! Until next post! Bye!

Life of a Runner!

Yes folks! I am back! I will update frequently my progress as I train for the St. Jude's Half Marathon! I will be running in December of 2012! This is so exciting! I have always wanted to run in this Marathon! Many of you know that I adore the Jake Owen Raborn Foundation. I love what the foundation does and I believe in every aspect of the foundation. That is my heart. I have always dreamed of going to Memphis and running as part of Team Jake in the St. Jude Marathon...however there is just one thing stopping me...I'm not in shape. I have been on a program lately to fix that problem. I am proud to say that I have just 4 weeks left of the program and then I will start my heavy training. I know you are probably thinking how this crazy idea came about. My Dad and my brother are very big into working out. I have seen them for years working out and looking great and feeling great. I have decided I wanted that same feeling. I have always wanted to run in the St. Jude Marathon but know that I could not do the whole marathon. I am going to do the Half Marathon. I plan on doing this next December. I know it will take a lot of sweat and tears to fill this goal. I am ready! I have so much determination! If a 2 year old kid can go through chemo, radiation, brain surgeries, countless sticks, many days in the hospital sick then the least I could do is run a Half Marathon in their honor! The most rewarding part is seeing the faces of survivors on the streets of Memphis to remind us of who we are running for, being able to see St. Jude Hospital as you run is going to be pretty awesome too! There are so many people that go to cheer for you and that is a great and big help to the runners. I will need all the support I can get to get there! I hope you will continue to encourage me and push me even on days that aren't my best. I know that everyday isn't going to be a great day and there are going to be really hard days. I am actually looking forward to the hard days because that is what is going to make me stronger and a better person! I appreciate the encouragement and thank you from the bottom of my heart! Here's to December 2012 and the St. Jude Half Marathon! Thank you for reading my post! Now you all know what I hope to accomplish! December 2012 St. Judes Half Marathon is MINE!!!! Failure is not an option! Success is the goal! I will succeed!

Frequently Asked Questions:

What makes your photography so unique?

I do all my photography outdoors most of the time. I do not have a studio. I prefer not to use Photoshop. Not because me and Photoshop got in a heated argument but because I know that photographs look more natural when not Photoshopped. I think it is really cool when a photograph has been Photoshopped I just choose not to do that. I love the natural look!

Where do you get your work done?

I have all my work done at CVS. I have for several years. It makes it easier on the client.

Do you do parties and special events?

Yes. I love doing parties and special events. However I don't have a price for the. The pricing depends on the amount of time and photographs that I produce. These normally run about $250.

Why do you love Photography?

I love capturing that special image that means so much! It feels really good when you get a great smile on a kid's face or that awesome catch during baseball season!

Freeman Family

So this morning I got up bright and early and met my next client at Kiroli Park. I was a little worried at first about the weather but it turned out to be awesome! I was very pleased with some of the shots I got! The most exciting part of this job is when I show the client their pictures and their face lights up! It just makes it so worth it and worth your time and effort you put into it. This morning was no different. My client was so beautiful and a joy to work with. This is Cheyenne. Enjoy the sneek peek into this great session!

A Photoshoot on Black Bayou
