Update

Well to update everyone....I have turned 1 year older since the last post and our friends were pretty good to us. Mr. Ike caused some major wind! He wasn't that ugly but I was ready to put up a fight! Now Gustav was really ugly! We had a lot of evacuees here in town. I believe we still do.
Football season has geared up and like I have said go to www.thenewsstar.com and look for Tiger Talk pictures...I took those! I am a little proud! Hope you all enjoy them. I apologize about the lack of pictures because my computer at home has been down. I hope to get it back up soon so I can get some pics up. I know it would be nice! Well I am so excited about football and how much fun that will be. Now that we have some nice fall weather it is also time for the fair! WOW! Elephant ears, corn on the cob, caramel apples, and chicken on a stick! I can't wait! Hope everyone is doing great!

Until next time....wave your red, white & blue!

Much love,
Erin

A few not so nice friends are coming....

Well it is September 2nd and we have already had a Category 2 hurricane hit by the name of Gustav. Guess he felt lonely because he has 4 more behind him. I guess they are going to be meeting for drink specials at some fantastic place. Oh I already know their names...they are Hanna, Ike, Josephine and Karina! I wish I knew their favorite place because at this point I think I want to join them. As you all may know I work Disaster Relief for the Red Cross and I have been putting in some major hours helping the people from down south. They have been very nice. I have however met some other friends (not storms) that have been coming in to help our local chapter of the American Red Cross. They have been amazing!

Not to get off subject or anything but I haven't talked about babies in a long while! WOW! My good friend Melanie just "had" her 2nd precious baby! The baby finally has a name! Gabby! I love that name too! I think Todd (Mel's husband) likes it too! Well this weekend was a little wild. I knew I was going to get called for Red Cross and at 9:35 Friday night my phone rang and I couldn't imagine who would be calling my house at 9:35 so I knew that was it so I just got prepared and packed my bag and left Saturday morning at 7. Still haven't seen my mother since Saturday! I am beginning to miss her and the funny part is that I am working locally! Just staying busy! I worked my real job today but it seems I had more Red Cross involved calls that City concerning calls. It happens that way after something like that happens!

I know my friends aren't going to be all that friendly especially my friends, Ike, Jospephine, Karina and Hanna but please be safe from them! They can get a little fiesty! But for now I think I am going to start shutting everything down here and preparing to go back to the shelter to make sure everything is going great which I know it is. Oh I forgot...I didn't post any pictures this post...that is because I have to get the pics put on a disc and get the other pics sent to The News Star! Yes I said the name of our local paper! Yes I did! The News Star! I took pics for them Saturday night (I managed to escape the shelter for a while!) and I think they turned out really good...just have to see what the experts say! I will be doing that at every game! Well with all that said it is time to say this....I am getting ready to go back to working Disaster Operations so I am going to head out!

Until next time....keep waving your Red, white and blue!

CHAD HAS 75 DAYS LEFT IN IRAQ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got the Camera...

but once again no pictures! I have so many pictures on this camera already that I am going to have to erase the "bad" pictures before I can upload them all. This camera does not take a bad picture and neither does my precious subject....my sweet nephew Deason Hewitt Parker! He is just adorable. I could talk about him all the time. Oh nevermind I already do! Anyways I am gonna go home today and do just what I said...oh and I need to upload my new software onto the computer! That would help to! People tell me all the time that the baby has gotten so big and they can't believe he is only 7 weeks old (7 weeks today)! He is big and he loves to eat! and sleep and eat more! He will make a funny face every now and then and Aunt Tootie is around with her new Panasonic Lumix FZ18 to capture the moment! Gotta be! Ok so before the week is out be looking for the latest and greatest of my shrine to my beautiful nephew...Deason Hewitt Parker. Sorry I have no other pictures of my life because little Deason is my life and I love him so much and would walk across hot coals for him!
Rain rain go away! I am so tired of the rain! I just got a new camera and I wanna go play!

Until next time...keep waving your red, white & blue!

Much love,
Erin

Camera Countdown......

The official Camera Countdown has begun! What an exciting week this has been and it is going to get more exciting on Friday morning about 10am. That is when the local camera store opens up and I will purchase my brand new Panasonic Lumix FZ18. I am so excited! I can't wait. I will definitely have reason to post pictures now. Not only do I have wonderful subjects (my next door neighbor's children) I have a new camera! One that will hopefully make me some money one day. By the way I will start accepting clients in the second week of December so if you know anyone that needs a photographer...give me a call! I am going to start off by doing family and children and eventually work my way up the photography ladder! If you are a photographer and could be of any assistance to me I would definitely appreciate that! Just shoot me an e-mail at erinerins@yahoo.com or if you want to help me build my portfolio and be a subject! That would sure be appreciated!
Now to Bejiing...The opening ceremonies for the Olympics are Friday and I am getting so excited! I like to watch the diving and the gymnastics knowing that I will never be able to do such a thing and so glad that other love to do it and I take the joy of watching! Ok well everyone get their popcorn, chips & salsa and all your snacks ready for the opening ceremonies!!!!
Enjoy!

Until next time....Keep waving your Red, White, and Blue!

Much love,
Erin

P.S. Please continue to pray for my friends Rosemary Anderson and Debbie Pope and their families! They really need His strength!

Heeelllloooooo!

I know it has been a good while since I have written. Neglect! That's what it is. I am just bad about getting on here and updating! Melanie is so much better than I am! I am spending time with my new nephew that is 5 weeks old yesterday! He is just so precious! I need to get some updated pictures on here. I took some of the cutest pictures the other day. I know I am bad with my camera and the poor child already knows what it sounds like when the camera turns on because he starts his little fake whine. I love it. I hope my new camera doesn't make the noise so I can take more pics! I know it is going to be so much better and I am going to absolutely love it! Me and Dad are going the day of my birthday to get it at the malll (hopefully if they have it) I am sure they will. Right now I am just waiting on 1 so that I can go to lunch to see the little man. My Mom (Puggy to Deason) is keeping him while my sister, Katie works. Then I believe he is going to Day Care when my mom starts school because my mother is just loving her little man! I do to! He is not spoiled...now how many of you believe that? I don't see any hands up! wonder why! Just wait till he gets older! lol! That is going to be awesome but I want to enjoy him now because they don't stay like this for long. Oh I have a story to share about my sister....kinda upsetting! She is very wrong!
So I am at my house as usual and as usual I have my camera in my hand and I think I had taken like 3 or 4 pictures and she was brave enough to tell me to stop taking pictures that she already has too many...now I love my camera...it is probably my best friend because it is never mean to me just people are mean to me about it...lol! So my Mom looked at me as to say Erin I know what you are going to say so I said it...oh yes I did! I meant it too! I said Katie you can never take too many pictures....one day you are going to come up to me wanting those pictures and I am not going to have them because you told me not to take any. Well I hate to have to go but I must! I have been thinking about my friend Chad a lot. If you all remember from maybe my second post I mentioned I had a friend Chad that was in Iraq. Please continue to keep him and his family in your prayers. Please also continue to pray for Rosemary and Debbie. Them and their families really need our prayers and desperately need to feel the Lord's mighty strength!

Until next time.....keep waving your red, white, and blue!

Erin

Baseball...Chris....Baseball & Lazy Sundays

Well first of all I love baseball but to a point....I must honestly say that I am ready for it to be over for this year. About a month from now I will miss it but right now it needs to be over! So over the last couple of weeks I have been talking to a very nice gentleman named Chris. He is such a sweetheart. I really think a lot about him. My parents love him. They think he is just so sweet. He has invited me to Panama City, Florida and unfortunately my work schedule won't allow me to go. I so wish I could go so that we could spend time together. Eventually I hope we will. I told him next summer I was definitely planning on taking a beach trip. Maybe a girls trip to the beach! Anyway I went to Funkmonsters Friday night with my best friend Jill and we had a great time as always. I met her boss Misty and a friend of hers by the name of Rhonda aka Flippy. They are some very nice ladies. I also have pictures to share from that night but they will have to wait because I haven't gotten them uploaded yet. I also have some pictures of the baby that I haven't gotten uploaded yet either. That baby is just growing everyday and it makes me so sad that he is growing up so fast. By the time I blink he is going to be 16 and driving. It just breaks my heart that it happens so fast. He will be 4 weeks old tomorrow. It seems like yesterday we were in that hospital room with Katie letting her and her husband make that important decision to have a C-Section. Then seeing Dea's face as he brought Deason Hewitt out to see the family. The first look I had of my new nephew was priceless. I will never have that feeling again. There is just something about the first that does something. He is spoiled, he will be spoiled and he has definitely been spoiled by his Aunt Tootie. I love that child so much. I never thought you could love a baby so much until now. It is about 4:25 here and I am ready for 5. I am ready to talk to Chris again! By the way he gave me the biggest laugh today and that is what I truly like about Chris. He can make the worst of my days so much better by just a phone call. I thank him so much for that and remind him of that everyday! Ok so that is enough for today! I shall "talk" to you all again soon!

Until next time...keep waving your red, white & blue!
Until they ALL come HOME!
I am praying for you CL! I think about you everyday! Stay safe & watch your back!

Much Love,
Erin
