20 Minute Run

Hey! Had a great 20 minute run yesterday! Was very hot but overall a great run. Working on my endurance is tough! I can't believe I have put myself through some greusome stuff this week! Very excited! I know all of this hard work will pay off and I can't wait till it does! Possibly going to run a few sprints tonight..(Can't believe I just said that) Drinking a great bottle of Muscle Milk this morning for a little protein. Didn't eat supper last night so I need the protein. Soon I will be working on my diet so that I can get accustomed to it. I know I am going to put myself through a very strict diet before the race. There is so much that goes into planning for a race and planning to run a race. You have to think about all aspects of it. The dieting, the strength training, the endurance training. There is a lot. You have to discipline yourself. Sometimes you have to be harder on yourself than normal. If anyone knows me they know I am extremely hard on myself. That will play a huge role in preparing myself for this Half Marathon! I am truly excited about this journey and can't wait to get to the hard core training aspect of it! Until next post! Bye!

Life of a Runner!

Yes folks! I am back! I will update frequently my progress as I train for the St. Jude's Half Marathon! I will be running in December of 2012! This is so exciting! I have always wanted to run in this Marathon! Many of you know that I adore the Jake Owen Raborn Foundation. I love what the foundation does and I believe in every aspect of the foundation. That is my heart. I have always dreamed of going to Memphis and running as part of Team Jake in the St. Jude Marathon...however there is just one thing stopping me...I'm not in shape. I have been on a program lately to fix that problem. I am proud to say that I have just 4 weeks left of the program and then I will start my heavy training. I know you are probably thinking how this crazy idea came about. My Dad and my brother are very big into working out. I have seen them for years working out and looking great and feeling great. I have decided I wanted that same feeling. I have always wanted to run in the St. Jude Marathon but know that I could not do the whole marathon. I am going to do the Half Marathon. I plan on doing this next December. I know it will take a lot of sweat and tears to fill this goal. I am ready! I have so much determination! If a 2 year old kid can go through chemo, radiation, brain surgeries, countless sticks, many days in the hospital sick then the least I could do is run a Half Marathon in their honor! The most rewarding part is seeing the faces of survivors on the streets of Memphis to remind us of who we are running for, being able to see St. Jude Hospital as you run is going to be pretty awesome too! There are so many people that go to cheer for you and that is a great and big help to the runners. I will need all the support I can get to get there! I hope you will continue to encourage me and push me even on days that aren't my best. I know that everyday isn't going to be a great day and there are going to be really hard days. I am actually looking forward to the hard days because that is what is going to make me stronger and a better person! I appreciate the encouragement and thank you from the bottom of my heart! Here's to December 2012 and the St. Jude Half Marathon! Thank you for reading my post! Now you all know what I hope to accomplish! December 2012 St. Judes Half Marathon is MINE!!!! Failure is not an option! Success is the goal! I will succeed!
